In honor of the website's debut I'll be giving away this original art piece entitled The Tulip Tree. If you want a chance to win it simply leave a comment with your name on it. On June 6th I'll put all the names in a hat and give the painting to the person whose name I pull. It could be you! I'll continue giving away art in the coming months so stay tuned.
*update* The drawing has been compteted. The winner will be announced June 7th.
*update* I was moved and encouraged by the comments left on the website and more specifically on the Tulip Tree. I did the drawing yesterday at my kitchen table. When I told my partner I was going to draw the names from a hat he said, "really?" And I said, "It'll be fun." And it was. It was also personal. I was surprised how full my heart felt when I pulled the name out of the hat.So the Tulip Tree has found a home with Linda Grinde.

reaching high
into white pillows of clouds
and
blue sky
Love the artwork! Pick me!
if i could
i'd climb a tulip tree
up to the deep blue sky
sitting on a fluffy white cloud
i'd look down and smile
then wave
then do nothing
except feel joy
this piece of art sings to me and reminds me of my daughter and her love of art, flowers and the sky. i hope our name is pulled out of the hat!
Ria darling I can see that you are so admired and I too would absolutely love to have one of your paintings.........however I think I will wait until I have a new space and find a piece that calls to me and tells me that it belongs with me OR better yet; perhaps one day Sasha will inspire you and that piece will become mine!!! LOL
Love Love Love that you are sharing your beautiful art with all of us!!!!
RC
How lovely my friend! Pick me!!!
I love the disproportion of the tulips compared to the girl. What I would give for a world of giant tulips! As always, beautiful work, my friend. Much love!
This is beautiful and I'm so proud of you. I can't wait to see your work in person. Texture seems to be a big part of it and that is always perceived differently in person. Congratulations on the venture. We're behind you!
I love this! Texture, color and red boots! It sure is nice. Gonna check out your other work now. Congratulations Ria.
A fun and wonderful depcition of spring pleasures.
Ria's vibrant work
speaks to me of ardent life.
Captured, yet unbound.
Amazing Ria! I'm so thrilled to see your work. This piece reminds me of those crisp clear cool spring days and the first buds. I saw some tulip trees in Spokane when I went there with my parents to see David Sedaris a few weeks ago. They were gorgeous and took me right back to springtime in Virginia. Can't wait to see more of your work. It's absolutely beautiful.
Absolutely appreciate your idea to share your art with your community. What a wonderful form a self expression and beauty! Thank you for sharing with all of us.
As a visual art challenged person, I find the whole page pretty amazing. Ria, did you realize you are using Peggy's version of the "The Day is Beginning" gatha? Cool!
Oh my, Ria! I had no idea you are a painter. I love the tulip tree. Your paintings exude an aura of you that is palpable. it would be lovely to hang one in my home...
Love to you,
Linda
P.S. Did you know that up until about a month ago I had the same Mary Oliver quote on my email signature? Looks like Peggy also resonates with those words.
Wow, these are great! They would go wonderful in the classrooms at my work.
Ria,
I am blown away. Your creations are really incredible. They have such a whimsical yet very serious quality to them. Though I would be ecstatic to win The Tulip Tree I am more excited to have learned about your artwork and hope to purchase one in the future. Congrats on making a steady transition and keep up the amazing work.
Aaron
I place myself in line!~!!!!!!!
and I suggest that we talk about a couple of pieces of art to auction off for tuition exchange, eh? Double win!
These are illustrations for a fabulous and magical story
that begs to be
drawn out into an adventurous tale.
Luscious colors and textures, too.
bravo more more
I love your artwork, Ria. Great site! Hugs...
Ria, Ria, this is so beautiful. I love the connection between the girl and the tulips. The pink of the tulip. the purple peak of the hat and the gold stars on the red boots really make the painting come alive. But it's really the way girl is looking at tulip and tulip is looking at girl that I love.
Miss you LOTS!!! And am glad to see how you are thriving,
BIG hugs,
Maria
I love it all, Ria... So much!!
You play, you dance, and apeyour art work is exquisite! May your web site bring you recognition, inspiration and joy to all who view it.
I love this! It reminds me of Alice in Wonderland...
(crossed fingers)
I am so glad, Ria, you've included me in your "community". I did not know that you were so expressive through art. It shows how long it has been that we haven't connected. Love the art - and the website. Beautiful!
your art is full of beauty and light and the world is blessed by it!
Your art is beautiful Ria!
Congratulations, Ria! I wish you all the best in your endeavor! Your work is beautiful. I'm adding your blog to my reader!
Beautiful. Thanks for sharing your work.
I love the light in the sailing clouds and glowing tulips. and the expression of the girl beholding the mysteries communicated by nature's beauty.
Wonderful. I'd love it in my home gallery. So vibrant.
Thanks for sharing your art with the community. The Tulip Tree helps me feel hopeful and stirs up a desire in my heart to slow down and live in the moment. Springtime is breathtaking and yet fleeting. Great job with your artist statement: "Our world needs more images of hope and connection. We are bombarded with imagery aimed at convincing us that we need something: that we are incomplete. My hope as an artist is to create images we can rest with, reminding that our day is filled with little miracles. And yes, indeed, we are enough just as we are." I am feeling it! Great work.
wondrous painting, I first looked without the feet; for a moment I was taken back to the mountains of my childhood home, walking with a pretty girl...
plse put my chit in the hat
This is great! I'm so glad you are getting out there! and I can't wait to have more of your wonderful art blessing our home! and my store (green mother goods) ....maybe!?!
I hope we win!!! Love you!!!~mayzie

Thank you Ria. I love hat drawings, specially for such a lovely piece.
I'd love to hang this in my baby's room! Everyone deserves a slice of dreaminess.

This piece makes me feel light and playful! I can feel your imagination jumping out at me and pulling me into the joy and depth of your creation.
Thank you for being a friend, travel down the road and back again, your heart is true, you're a pal and a confidant, and one hell of an artist. Seriously. I'm so impressed!

It is so fun to read the other comments left by your community. You are so fun and easy to admire, just like The Tulip Tree!
